Plain terms for a small app made by a one-person company.

The app

Casaluz is a Spanish learning app for young children, published by Fisk LLC ("we", "us"). By installing and using it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

What you may do

You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Casaluz on devices you own or control, for your own family's use. That licence lasts as long as you keep the app installed.

What you may not do

• Copy, redistribute or resell the app, its illustrations, or its recordings.
• Extract the artwork, audio or word lists for use in another product.
• Reverse-engineer the app except where that right cannot be excluded by law.

What belongs to whom

The illustrations, recordings, lesson content, word lists and the Casaluz name belong to Fisk LLC. Anything you type into the app — your child's name, for instance — belongs to you, stays on your device, and is never transmitted to us.

It is a learning aid, not a teacher

Casaluz is built with care and reviewed for accuracy, but it is a supplement to the people and conversation around a child, not a replacement for them. We make no promise about educational outcomes, and we do not warrant that the app is error-free or uninterrupted. It is provided "as is", to the fullest extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Fisk LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app.

Purchases and refunds

Any purchase is made through Apple's App Store or Google Play and is governed by their terms. Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, not by us.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms; the current version always lives on this page with its date. You may end this agreement at any time by deleting the app.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Rhode Island, United States.
